The plethora of collaborations Twils has engaged in with world renowned Italian and international designers has led to the company becoming a symbol of added value, especially appreciated by the most demanding markets where high quality design and manufacturing are an absolute priority.
The fundamental dialogue between manufacturer and designer, supported by a competent research and development department, has led to the creation, over time, of a range of genuine long sellers, mirroring a design approach aimed at promoting sustainability by producing long lifecycle products.
The Art Direction of Matteo Ragni
The architect Matteo Ragni has been the company’s Art Director since 2020 – renowned in the industry for his numerous collaborations with international companies and the winner of two Compasso d’Oro awards.
A creative direction that began with the Better Living collections, composed of furniture pieces designed to come into the world with elegance, inviting us to take a seat and discover their value over time. It’s the hidden value of materials created with sartorial care, of technologies specifically made to offer functionality that reveals itself with the naturalness of a simple act, of a sustainable supply chain, of the durability of a product that lasts a lifetime. Ragni also currently heads up the Better Dreaming division.
An Important Legacy
Achille Castiglioni was a playful, visionary, intriguing spirit. An architect and designer, between 1955 and 1989 he was awarded the Compasso d'Oro 9 times for his eclectic, transversal creations.
His many designs include Polet, a playful yet functional armchair bed designed in 1992. In 2021 Twils decided to reinterpret this striking design. Polet is a bed that becomes an armchair. More precisely, a throne, with its high backrest it becomes a delightfully playful yet functional piece of furniture. A furniture piece that serves everyone’s needs and makes one feel right at home. Castiglioni designed Polet to include a simple system, one that can be opened and closed with extreme ease.
